Dr. Howard Short: I didn’t even know what a chiropractor was when I was younger. My parents were medically oriented; my dad being a surgeon, my mom is an RN. I had no idea what chiropractic was until it came to be about 16 years-old when I had my first experience with a chiropractor. I had many sports injuries and each one of them got helped with chiropractic. It just kept getting better every time I went, no drugs, no surgery, it was like wow. This is a profession that exists; I want a piece of that.
Dr. Alyssa Holum: I originally knew I wanted to be a chiropractor around high school age, I was playing competitive volleyball. I had a pretty severe injury and I was told by of doctors that I wouldn’t be able to play throughout high school and probably not in college. So my mom decided to take me to the chiropractor and I walked in in severe pain, barely able to walk, and walked out standing up straight. He told me I would be able to play and he changed my life and I knew that I wanted to do the same for others. It’s one of the greatest things.
Heather Short: I remember before Cash Practice years ago, I would spend hours and hours in the office doing paperwork.
Dr. Howard Short: When we started our practice it was just me and my wife Heather, she did everything manually. We’re talking about the manual appointment book we started with the old Parker System, and we had one of the very first Macintosh Computers if you can believe that back in the day.
Heather Short: A lot of times I when I was there much longer than the doctor until 10 o’clock at night just balancing everything, getting all the insurance done, the paperwork, it was astronomical.
Dr. Howard Short: Some of the things that I liked are, that you can put together a care plan very efficiently, very fast. It just makes it much easier than trying to figure this out by PayPal, or credit cards, or anything else that people do, I really don’t know. I wouldn’t want to do anything else.
